Good Friday for Lutherans (15/04)

Good Friday (German. Karfreitag) — is the most mourning and solemn day of Easter time. On this day, everything should resemble the execution of Jesus Christ and the spiritual and physical torment he experienced, accepted by him to atone for the sins of all humanity.

In Lutheran churches on this day, it is allowed to perform musical works of a special genre and content, the so-called passion — works about the suffering (passion) of the Savior based on fragments from the Gospels (for example, «St Matthew Passion», «St John Passion» I.S. Bach).

The rest of the sounds familiar to any church, — bell and altar ringing — disappear from this day and resume only at noon on Easter. The start of services is announced by the ministers of the — group of teenagers who walk with rattles through the streets from house to house and receive colored or white eggs from their owners.
