Days of At-Tashrik (10/07)

Days of At-Tashrik — continuation of the holiday of sacrifice Eid al-Adha — are celebrated from the 11th to the 13th day of the 12th month of the Muslim lunar calendar of Dhul-Hijjah.

Pilgrims go to the area of Mina on the night of the first of the days of At-Tashrik and spend the night there. From the morning prayer of Tashriq day until the afternoon prayer of the third day of Tashriq, Muslims, after collective prayers, read a takbir called takbir Tashriq.

After the time of Az-Zuf on the first day, At-Tashriq is thrown into three pillars of pebbles. First into a small (jamrat al-ula) — 7 pebbles, then into a middle pillar (jamrat al-wusta) — 7 pebbles, and then into a large pillar (jamrat al-aqaba) — 7 pebbles. When throwing, it is advisable to say the words: «Allahu Akbar».

On the second day, the same rite is repeated from the days of At-Tashrik as on the first day. Then, if a pilgrim is caught in the sunset of the second day in Mina, then he is obliged to stay and throw pebbles on the third day. If someone is afraid for themselves during a stampede, then they can postpone throwing all the stones until the third day, and if they cannot physically, then they entrust it to someone else. However, if he can do it himself, he cannot entrust it to another.
