Pineapple Festival in Thailand (02/06)

The Pineapple Festival is held annually in Lampang Province in June.

This fruit is highly respected and appreciated in Thailand. Its fruits are rich in vital vitamin A, B and C vitamins, and contain fiber, magnesium, chlorine, and iodine.

The enzyme bromelin contained in pineapple pulp breaks down fats, which promotes better digestion. Pineapple normalizes intestinal microflora. It is taken as food to improve the functioning of the thyroid gland, liver, and kidneys.

The pineapple festival — holiday, during which songs and dances do not subside, lasts three days. The main treat at the celebration, of course, is a sweet and juicy pineapple.

An agricultural exhibition-fair, seminars for pineapple producers and processors are required. On the last day, the «Miss Pineapple» competition and other competitions take place.
