Celebration of lights in Cuba (03/07)

From July 3 to 9, the city of Santiago on the east coast of Cuba hosts the street Festival of Lights — Fiesta del Fuego.

This is an excellent occasion for those who want to get acquainted with Caribbean culture, dancing all night on the streets of Santiago de Cuba, refreshing themselves (if desired) with the famous Cuban rum. Santiago de Cuba — «first city of revolution».

Like all good revolutionaries, the people of Santiago know how to have a good celebration. During the holiday, you can find entertainment for every taste: performances by traditional musical groups, world dance music, processions with decorated platforms and funny dressed dancers, a lot of all sorts of goodies on remote trays (pork products are especially popular) and, of course, beer and rum.

The most exotic and spectacular performance, of course, is prepared by fakirs and all sorts of «masters» fire. In Cuba these days, it is especially fascinating to walk around Santiago at night and look at fiery performances, street games with fire and discos filled with the light of burning torches.
