Perhaps because the rights of blond ladies, as they angrily claim, are undeservedly violated literally all over the world; the bright date of May 31 is declared World Blonde Day.

According to the official version of the origin of the holiday, it was initiated by American blonde lawyers, whom their male colleagues did not perceive as equals, and prevented their career growth, hinting at the low level of intelligence of their light-headed female colleagues. And when blondes got tired of constantly enduring offensive jokes about hair color, they decided to fight for their rights by founding a holiday in their honor.

According to another version, the holiday arose after the release of the American comedy «Blonde in Law» in 2001. Legally Blonde), which served as the impetus for the creation of the holiday. Two years later it gained popularity in other countries.

The heroines of many jokes, hostages of hydrogen peroxide and hairdressing, innocent victims of glamor, lords of solariums and silicone, favorites of real gentlemen and owners of hyperfeminine logic worthily celebrated this date in Russia for the first time in 2006, namely — decided to give their due and become laureates of the exclusive — « Diamond Hairpin» award (this is the first special award for blondes).

The first celebration of Blonde Day was truly chic. In Moscow, in Novinsky Passage, the «Diamond Hairpin» award ceremony took place, dedicated to the celebration of the talented, smart, successful, fashionable and infinitely feminine. In a word, the most blonde blondes of our time.

Over the past 50 years alone, the number of blondes and blondes has decreased from 49 to 14 percent of the world's total population. And there are several reasons for this.

First, for a child to be born blond, both parents must have blond hair. Secondly, in countries where dark hair color predominates, the population is steadily growing, but Europeans — are Germans, Scandinavians, Russians, who are carriers of the «blond gene» — are increasingly limited to one child. The last person with blond hair will be born, according to scientists, in Finland, where the largest number of blond people live per capita.
