Gahanbar Mitra falls on October 15 when the Sun passes 23 degrees Libra.

Mitra embodies the principle of justice, order and law. It regulates all people's relationships in social life.

Zoroastrians take their words and treaties very responsibly. It is considered the rule – to protect the interests of a partner before one’s own, in the process of one’s activities not to cause harm to living beings, elements, to begin business at the appropriate time, which is determined by astrologers.

Celebration occurs at night before sunrise: it is a time of choice, renunciation of evil, delusion.

On this day you can take oaths. The oath is taken by standing on one knee (man on the left, woman on the right) facing east. Afterwards they take communion with bread and special wine – «haoma», and then eat small halva candies with nuts. The communion bread must be uncut. Haoma is cooked in a large copper bowl, where everyone pours the wine they bring, which is mixed. Add cinnamon and saffron, dilute with spring water 1:3, but do not heat. Scoop up the haoma with a silver spoon. Food is blessed. Meat is prohibited at this holiday.

You can't jump over a fire, but you can dance in circles.

It is appropriate to light 5 lights – symbol of the Law.
