Day of Civil Aviation Workers of Azerbaijan (02/06)

Every year on June 2, Azerbaijan celebrates the professional holiday of everyone who works in the field of civil aviation — Day of Civil Aviation Workers of Azerbaijan, according to the Order of the President of the Republic dated May 18, 2006.

The choice of the date of the holiday was made on the basis that on June 2, 1938, the first aviation group was created in Azerbaijan, which marked the beginning of the development of civil aviation in the Republic.

In 1992, the Republic of Azerbaijan became one of the full members of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in November 2002 — a member of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) and has been actively cooperating with international civil aviation organizations all years.

Today, Azerbaijani civil aviation aircraft operate flights to countries in Europe, America, the CIS, the Middle East and Asia. The total route network of air transportation includes about 40 points in 25 countries. On these routes, transportation of people and cargo is carried out by Boeing and Airbus aircraft, which fully comply with ICAO standards.

Back in 1995, a «forge of personnel for civil aviation was created in the Republic » National Aviation Academy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main goal of the Academy is to meet the needs of airlines, enterprises and civil aviation organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan with highly qualified aviation specialists. The Academy received a Certificate from the Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) for the right to train and retrain civil aviation specialists.

On the holiday itself, all aviators and civil aviation workers receive congratulations from management and colleagues, and state awards are presented to the most distinguished aviation specialists.

Let us remind you that International Civil Aviation Day is celebrated annually on December 7.
