HR Manager Day in Russia (21/09)

The day of the HR manager is the Day of the personnel management specialist (HR - from English - human resources). This professional holiday is celebrated by all personnel specialists on the third Wednesday of September.

We can say that the history of the Day of the HR manager begins in 1835, when the Russian Empire issued a decree "On the relationship between the owners of factory establishments and working people entering these for hire."

This resolution was the first document in the country that regulated the relationship between capital and wage labor, and also officially recorded the existence of workers whose work in the company determines almost everything.

The profession of an HR manager has replaced the personnel officer from the Soviet-style personnel department in the second half of the 90s of the 20th century. But if earlier HR employees performed exclusively routine work (registration and maintenance of documentation for hiring, firing, going on vacation and sick leave), then the range of responsibilities of HR managers is much wider.

Any vacancy for an HR manager today includes a whole list of requirements and responsibilities: from finding applicants who will become full-fledged employees, to determining the company's personnel policy and shaping the corporate culture as a whole.
