Paratrooper Day in Russia (26/07)

Every year on July 26 is celebrated, so far unofficially, the holiday of Soviet and Russian professionals and amateurs of parachuting - Skydiver's Day.

On July 26, 1930, a group of Soviet pilots and mechanics of the 11th Aviation Brigade of the Moscow Military District, under the leadership of the Red Army Air Force brigade commander Leonid Grigorievich Minov, made a series of jumps from aircraft near Voronezh for the first time. This event marked the beginning of the massive development of parachuting in the USSR.

It is in honor of this event that every year on July 26, Russian skydiving professionals and amateurs celebrate their professional holiday, which has not yet been approved by law, but is known and widely celebrated among skydivers.
