Every year on December 18, police officers and veterans of the Republic of Moldova celebrate their professional holiday - Police Day.
On December 18, 1990, Law No. 416-XII “On the Police” was adopted in Moldova, which “determines the place, role and principles of police activity in the system of central and local public administration, establishes the main tasks of the police, duties and rights, responsibility and procedure for supervision behind her activities.
The Police of Moldova is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic and is an armed law enforcement agency created to protect the life, health, rights and freedoms of the citizens of the country. The area of activity of the police also includes the protection of the interests of society and the state from illegal, criminal and other encroachments.
