The celebration of Designer's Day in Russia takes place annually on November 16, and the initiator of a new professional holiday was a commercial company, the Rospipe group of companies.
According to representatives of the organization, in this way they decided to correct a historical injustice: the Builder's Day is celebrated on a grand scale every year, and the designers, from whose work the construction of any building begins, did not have their own holiday until recently - unlike other specialists in the construction industry, for example, power engineers and engineers.
It is important to note that the work of designers is not only related to the design of high-rise structures - specialists in this field are engaged in the design of so-called linear structures: railways and roads, artificially created inland waterways, tram lines, power lines, pipelines, gas pipelines, sewerage systems.
The first Designer's Day was held on November 16, 2005 in St. Petersburg. It was attended by 150 guests who decided to celebrate this date every year. A year later, the holiday covered three cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. And a year later, in 2007, more than 2,000 specialists from 15 Russian cities gathered for the Designer's Day.
Today the holiday has become an all-Russian holiday, and many specialists use this opportunity to meet and discuss professional issues with colleagues, and hope that in the near future their unofficial professional holiday will change its status and even become international.
