The Stock Market Worker's Day (ukr. "Day of the Stock Market Practitioner") is celebrated annually in Ukraine on June 12. This date appeared in the official calendar of the country's professional holidays in 2008.
On March 11, 2008, Viktor Yushchenko, who then held the post of head of state, signed decree No. 202/2008 establishing a new holiday. The document says that the new date is being introduced, “taking into account the significant contribution of stock market workers to the acceleration of economic reforms and the creation of a real market economy, the role of the stock market in the process of attracting investments to the Ukrainian economy, improving the investment climate.”
The holiday has already developed its own traditions. As a rule, it is organized by representatives of the largest Ukrainian securities exchanges, including the PFTS Stock Exchange (the largest in the country) and the Ukrainian Stock Exchange (the first to start trading on the securities market).
On this day, participants in the securities market accept congratulations from partners, and also gather in a solemn atmosphere to celebrate a professional date and honor the best representatives of their industry. The organizers of the holiday usually present awards to organizations and individuals who have made the greatest contribution to the development of the securities market.
Do not forget on this day and state bodies; words of recognition are often heard by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the National Securities and Stock Market Commission.
