International Blogger Day (14/06)

Every year on June 14, the Internet community celebrates International Weblogger's Day.

The idea of holding this holiday was born in 2004. Immediately 500 people from more than 40 countries, united, decided that they needed their day — as a kind of symbol of friendly relations between online bloggers around the world.

Blogger (blogger) — a person who independently maintains and administers his online diary, where he regularly talks about the events of his life, shares photographs, expresses his thoughts, and expresses his opinion on some pressing issues in his opinion.

This holiday makes people who write on their blogs in different languages closer and gives them the opportunity to support each other and all Internet users. Anyone with access to the World Wide Web can join the society of bloggers, regardless of gender, nationality and age.

Thus, on June 14, 2007, on the third anniversary of Blogger Day, every user of the World Wide Web who has his own blog published a short message about solidarity between all bloggers. And in a number of countries, «live» meetings of bloggers have been taking place on this day for several years now.

Along with International Blogger Day, the world annually celebrates the so-called Blog Day (original name — Blog Day). It is held on August 31st. On this day, each blogger publishes on his page five links to other diaries dedicated to different topics.

As stated on the official website of the organizers of this holiday, «bloggers must have at least one day that could be devoted to meeting their colleagues from different countries and with different interests».
