Day of the diplomatic worker of Kyrgyzstan (24/10)

Every year on October 24, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Day of the Diplomatic Worker, established by Decree of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 689 dated October 21, 1998, taking into account the growing role of the diplomatic service in the implementation of the foreign policy and foreign economic course of the Kyrgyz Republic. The holiday is dedicated to the UN Day.

The history of the modern diplomatic service of the Republic goes back to Soviet times. In accordance with the Law of the USSR "On granting powers to the Union republics in the field of foreign relations and on the transformation in connection with this, the People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs from the All-Union to the Union-Republican People's Commissariat", adopted on February 1, 1944, the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR on March 17, 1944 adopted the Law on the formation of the Union-Republican People's Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of the Kirghiz SSR.

The law emphasized that the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic has the right to enter into direct relations with foreign states, conclude agreements with them and exchange diplomatic and consular representatives, have representation in international organizations, appoint and recall diplomatic representatives of the republic in foreign states, accept credentials and revocable certificates, to exercise leadership in the field of external relations of the republic with foreign states. Within the framework of the Law, appropriate changes were made to the Constitutions of the USSR and Union republics.

Thus, March 17, 1944 is considered the day of formation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Today, Kyrgyz diplomacy is an effective tool of state policy. Worthy of defending national interests, increasing the authority of the state in the international arena and providing international support. And on their professional holiday, all diplomatic workers of the Republic receive congratulations from the leadership and friends, and the most distinguished ones receive state awards and valuable gifts.
