On May 21, representatives of culture and art of Kazakhstan celebrate their professional holiday. The Day of Cultural and Art Workers in Kazakhstan appeared in November 2013 in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic.
Initially, this holiday was established in 1998 and was celebrated on the last Sunday of September. But in 2013, by amendments and additions to the Presidential Decree, the date of the holiday was postponed to May 21.
The establishment of the holiday of culture and art was aimed at emphasizing the important role played by representatives of this sphere in the formation, development and preservation of cultural and historical values, patriotism, and the general cultural development of citizens.
