Day of Chemical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan (31/03)

On March 31, Turkmenistan celebrates the professional holiday – Day of Chemical Industry Workers, established by Decree of the President of the country in April 2017. The date of the celebration is timed to coincide with the commissioning of a large industrial enterprise in the industry.

The Garlyk mining and processing plant for the extraction and enrichment of potassium salts for the production of fertilizers, founded in 2009, was solemnly put into operation on March 31, 2017.

The opening was attended by the Presidents of Turkmenistan and Belarus. Built by partners from the Republic of Belarus, with the participation of specialists from Turkmenistan, the new mining and processing plant, with an estimated capacity of 1.4 million tons of fertilizers per year, should be an important step towards the development of the chemical and mining industries of Turkmenistan.

The country's chemical industry is based on rich and sometimes unique deposits of minerals and hydrocarbons. Among them, a separate place is occupied by large reserves of potassium salts, for the extraction and enrichment of which a new mining and processing plant was launched. Deposits of mirabilite, potassium salts, table salt, iodine, bromine, ozokerite, and phosphates contribute to the development of the chemical industry of Turkmenistan. The extraction of these minerals should not only provide mineral fertilizers to the country's agriculture, but also become the most important component of exports.

The opening of new chemical industry enterprises contributes to the growth of the state economy, solving problems of a socio-economic nature, among which it is worth highlighting the emergence of new jobs and providing housing for enterprise workers.

Training of young personnel for the chemical industry – is a separate task of the Government of Turkmenistan, the solution of which will contribute to the successful development of the industry. Training in mining and various areas of the chemical industry is taking place in universities and secondary specialized educational institutions of the country. To this end, connections are also being established with foreign partners for the training and training of specialists abroad.

Belarus provides great assistance to Turkmenistan in this regard, organizing the education of students from Turkmenistan in its universities. Training costs are justified, especially since new industrial plants are based on new equipment and technologies that need to be mastered.

In addition to cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, Turkmenistan is establishing commercial ties with foreign industrial giants to build enterprises for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene, ammonia and urea. Cooperation is also ongoing with partners from Turkey. Simultaneously with the construction of new chemical industry enterprises, old enterprises are being modernized.

In general, the chemical industry – is the most promising industry in Turkmenistan, the development of which is facilitated by the possession of significant reserves of minerals used by the industry.

The products of the chemical industry of Turkmenistan are used in agriculture, in the production of medicines, electronics, glass, paper, household chemicals, in textile, leather, metallurgical and other types of industry.

The celebration of the Day of Chemical Industry Workers of Turkmenistan takes place at industry enterprises with festive concerts and events where workers receive congratulations from managers, heads of industry, as well as representatives of the country's government authorities. During the festive events, workers are awarded for many years of conscientious work, achievements in production, certificates, valuable gifts and bonuses.
