On November 8, two holidays are celebrated at once - the International Day of Radiology (International Day of Radiology) and the Day of the Radiologist, which are closely related to each other, do not have an official status, despite the fact that one of them was initiated by large research societies.
Both holidays are associated with an important date and event in the history of physics and medicine. The fact is that on November 8, 1895, the German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered X-rays. For medicine, this discovery turned out to be not just the emergence of a new discipline, but became a real breakthrough in the field of diagnosing a whole range of diseases and injuries, and subsequently the method of therapy.
This medical discipline is called radiology.
