World Peace Day (01/01)

World Day of Peace is a holiday of the Roman Catholic Church, celebrated annually on January 1 on the Day of the Triumph of the Mother of God Mary.

On December 8, 1967, Pope Paul VI proclaimed World Peace Day. Catholics call this holiday the Day of World Prayers for Peace. For several years it was celebrated on the first day of every new year.

On December 17, 1969, the UN General Assembly proclaimed the World Day of Peace an official holiday, during which believers call on God to stop all wars and send peace to people on Earth.
