World Tai Ji Day and Qigong (30/04)

World Tai Chi and Qigong Day received international status in 1999. And the first public display, which inspired the development of global events, took place in 1998 in Kansas, Missouri. The founders of World Tai Chi and Qigong Day are Bill Douglas and Angela Wong-Douglas.

This first show, hosted by the Kansas Tai Chi Club and held at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, was attended by about two hundred people.

Since then, demonstrations have been held annually in 80 countries on the last Saturday in April.
