Memorial Day of St. Lupp Solunsky (05/09)

On this day, the Orthodox commemorate the martyr Lupp, who lived at the end of the 3rd - beginning of the 4th centuries and was a faithful servant of the Holy Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessalonica.

Being present at the death of the master, he soaked his clothes with his blood and took the ring from his hand. With this garment, as well as with the ring and the name of the Great Martyr Demetrius, Saint Lupp worked many miracles in Thessalonica.

He broke the pagan idols, for which he was persecuted by the pagans, but by the power of God he was preserved unharmed.

Saint Lupus voluntarily gave himself into the hands of his tormentors and, at the command of Emperor Maximian Galerius, was beheaded with a sword.
