World Welcome Day (21/11)

World Hello Day is celebrated annually on November 21st. Its main goal — is to draw the attention of the general public to the importance of personal communication for maintaining peace. After all, only through good communication, and not using force, can almost any conflicts be resolved.

This holiday of greetings was invented in 1973 by two American brothers Michael and Brian McCormack at the height of the Cold War, in response to the conflict between Egypt and Israel. The day was necessary as a sign of protest against increasing international tensions.

«We need a simple but effective action», — the brothers decided and sent letters with warm greetings to all parts of the world. They did not impose their ideas on anyone to fight for world peace and reduce international tension. They only asked the addressee to greet someone else, at least ten more people!

This idea has been supported in more than 180 countries. Since then, World Welcome Day has been celebrated by citizens of all professions and ages, major political leaders, industrial tycoons, and world-famous film and television personalities.

Although each people has its own, historically established, customs to welcome each other, interethnic etiquette, especially at various international meetings, is essentially the same — when meeting, traditionally, people wish each other goodness and health, prosperity and success in business.

Therefore, today's holiday — is another wonderful day for friendly greetings, joyful emotions and good mood. Join this wonderful and good holiday too!
