Day of Pharmaceutical Worker of Ukraine (17/09)

Pharmaceutical Worker's Day (Ukrainian. Pharmaceutical Practitioner's Day) was established by Decree of the President of Ukraine № 1128/99 of September 7, 1999.

Every year on the third Saturday of September, over 350 thousand representatives of this industry in Ukraine celebrate their professional holiday.

Currently, pharmaceutical enterprises in Ukraine produce medicines of almost all dosage forms (solid, liquid, powder). The main groups of products are cardiovascular drugs, analgesics, vitamins, products for the treatment of the respiratory, endocrine and gastrointestinal systems, as well as antibiotics.

A promising area of pharmaceutical activity is considered to be the production of generics (in other words, medicines produced after the expiration of the patent for the original drug). Generics, as you know, are much cheaper in price than imported analogues. At the same time, there are practically no original drugs that require significant material resources and time for development.

More than 5 thousand pharmaceutical organizations operate in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine, as well as pharmacies, pharmacy points, pharmacy warehouses and medical institutions.
