Day of adoption of the Constitution of Serbia (29/10)

October 29 is an important historical date in Serbia - the Day of the adoption of the Constitution of Serbia.

On October 30, 2006, the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, at an extraordinary meeting in the presence of the President and the Government, unanimously voted for a draft of a new Constitution, which was adopted at a national referendum held on October 28 and 29, 2006.

54.91% of all eligible citizens (3,645,517 people) took part in the referendum, of which 53.04% (3,521,724 people) voted for the adoption of the Constitution.
