World Information Day (26/11)

November 26 is World Information Day, which has been held annually since 1994 at the initiative of the International Informatization Academy (MAI), which has a general consultative status in the UN Economic and Social Councils, and the World Information and Science Parliament (WIP). On this day in 1992, the first International Informatization Forum took place. Today World Information Day is celebrated in many countries around the world.

Information, in a broad sense, is information transmitted by some people to other people orally, in writing or in any other way (for example, using conditional signals, using technical means), as well as the process of transmitting or receiving this information.

Information has always played a very important role in the life of mankind. And since the middle of the 20th century, as a result of social progress and the rapid development of science and technology, the role of information has increased immeasurably.
