Armenian Police Worker Day (16/04)

On April 16, the Armenian police celebrate their professional holiday. Officially Police Day (arm. ունանորուրան արարարարարորորուն արուն ար ուն ան ար արարուր արարար որարուրուն «O police» was announced on April 16 in connection with the adoption of the law ZR-177 O police on this day in 2001.

On June 1, 2006, Law «On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Armenia «On Police»» was adopted. According to the Act, the Armenian police, which is a public administration body, is tasked with the following tasks:

— ensuring human security; — prevention, prevention and suppression of crimes and administrative offenses; — identification and detection of crimes, conducting preliminary investigation in a criminal case; — public order and public safety; — equal protection of all forms of ownership; — providing assistance to individuals and legal entities in protecting their rights and interests within the competence of the police.

The main duty of the police is to protect the life, health, honor, dignity, rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a person from criminal and other attacks.

Every year on the morning of April 16, high-ranking representatives of the Armenian police lay flowers at the monument to the Unknown Soldier in Yerevan Victory Park. Republic police officers receive congratulations from the country's leadership and immediate superiors, and the most distinguished employees are awarded state awards, certificates of honor and valuable gifts.
