National Guard Day of Kyrgyzstan (20/07)

Every year on July 20, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the Day of the National Guard of the Republic. This holiday was established in honor of a historical event - it was on this day in 1992 that the first guardsmen of the National Guard of Kyrgyzstan took the oath of allegiance to the Motherland and the people and began to perform their official duties.

The National Guard was established by the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in December 1991, in accordance with the declaration of state independence of the Kyrgyz Republic and in order to ensure the security of Kyrgyzstan as a sovereign state.

As part of the reform of the Armed Forces in 2014, the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan were included in the Guard. In 2016, the National Guard was introduced into the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic.
