Armenian Aviation Day (19/06)

Professional holiday Aviation Day of Armenia (Arm. արարարարարորորան ան աիաիաիան աիան իան ար) is celebrated in the Armed Forces of the Republic annually on the third Sunday of June, starting in 1997.

The date for the holiday was chosen due to the fact that it was in June 1992 that the formation of the aviation unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia was completed, and 5 years later, in honor of this event, the president of the country signed a decree on the celebration of «Armenian Aviation Day».

Armenian Air Force — is one of the types of armed forces of the Republic. The identification mark of Armenian Air Force aircraft is three concentric circles in the colors of the national flag of Armenia — red outer, blue middle and orange inner.

Aviation of the Armenian Armed Forces has glorious roots. Armenian pilots have always been famous for their courage and courage. Among the pilots of the Great Patriotic War, a special place is occupied by Stepanyan Nelson Georgievich — attack pilot of the air force of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet, who flew more than 60 combat missions in the skies of Leningrad and, together with his flight, destroyed and disabled 8 tanks, almost 90 vehicles, more than 60 anti-aircraft guns, many other enemy equipment. He shot down 2 Ju-88 bombers and bombed 25 aircraft of various types at enemy airfields.

Today's generation of pilots is not inferior to their predecessors and continues to guard the air borders of their Motherland. And on their professional holiday, they, of course, traditionally receive congratulations from the authorities and command, as well as especially distinguished — awards and incentives.
