Day of workers of the Baku Metro (08/11)

Every year on November 8, Azerbaijan celebrates a professional holiday - the Day of Baku Metro Workers. It was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev dated October 28, 2006, in connection with the 40th anniversary of the commissioning of the Baku Metro (Azerbaijani Bakı Metropoliteni).

Being in Baku and not seeing the metro will be a big mistake. The architecture of the stations is very beautiful, they are tastefully decorated with the inclusion of national motifs.

The three most impressive stations are Nizami, Narimanov, Ganjlik. The last two are columned, but not typical centipedes. There are almost no typical ones in Baku. The most memorable of the Baku stations is Nizami. Even if you are not going to use the metro as a transport, you should definitely include a visit to the Nizami station in your cultural program as a separate item - a very beautiful mosaic of pylons on the themes of the classic of Azerbaijani poetry!
