Day of Justice Workers of Azerbaijan (22/11)

The Day of Justice Workers of Azerbaijan is celebrated annually on November 22, according to the decree of the President of Azerbaijan dated November 11, 2000.

The date for this professional holiday was not chosen by chance. On November 14, 1918, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic approved the charter of the Judicial Chamber, and on November 22, the Regulations of the Ministry of Justice of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic were approved.

At present, the main activity of the Ministry of Justice is the implementation of state policy and administration in the field of justice. The Ministry also carries out legal expertise, puts forward proposals for improving legislation and draft regulations, participates in the preparation of draft laws and work on legal education.

In addition, the Ministry of Justice conducts a state register and state registration of legal entities, a register of printed publications, manages the activities of notary structures, implements state registration of the population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and acts of civil status, takes the necessary measures on issues of interstate implementation of guardianship of children and legalization of documents within the framework of allocated powers, organizes the enforcement of court decisions, controls the execution of criminal penalties, the organizational activities of the courts, ensures the maintenance of judicial statistics.
