The Constitution Day of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated annually on December 12, is one of the most significant memorable dates of the Russian state.
On this day in 1993, the Constitution of the Russian Federation was adopted by popular vote. The full text of the Constitution was published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta on December 25, 1993. Since 1994, according to the Decrees of the President of Russia (“On the Day of the Constitution of the Russian Federation” and “On a non-working day on December 12”), December 12 has been declared a public holiday.
The Constitution - the fundamental law of the state - is the core of the entire legal system of Russia and determines the meaning and content of other laws.
