On the first Sunday of January, Belarus celebrates a professional holiday - the Day of Banking and Financial Workers. It was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 157 of March 26, 1998.
On December 3, 1921, the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR adopted a Resolution on the organization of the Belarusian office of the state bank in Minsk. At the same time, the Belarusian office of the state bank began to function on January 3, 1922.
From this January date, the history of the formation and development of the banking system of Belarus begins. And the professional holiday of banking and financial workers of the Republic is celebrated on the first Sunday of January.
