Festival of the Nineteenth Day of the Month Azamat (17/05)

On May 17, according to the Gregorian calendar, the month of Azamat begins, which means “Greatness” in Arabic. On this day - the first day of the month of Azamat according to the nineteen-month Baha'i calendar - an important holiday is celebrated - the holiday of the Nineteenth day of the month of Azamat.

The Feast of the Nineteenth Day was instituted by the Báb and confirmed by Bahá'u'lláh in His holy book Akdas so that people could meet and show friendship and love to one another.

The purpose of the holiday is to reach agreement, so that, thanks to friendly affection, hearts will merge in perfect unity, and mutual disposition and mutual support will be established.
