Day of National Security Authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (13/07)

On July 13, Kazakhstan celebrates its professional holiday by employees of the national security agencies of the Republic, which are an integral part of the system for ensuring the security and sovereignty of the state. It was established by Decree of the President of the country № 164 of October 20, 2011.

The date for the holiday was chosen due to the fact that on this day in 1992, by Decree of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the National Security Committee (NSC) of the Republic of Kazakhstan was formed. From this day the history of the Kazakh National Security Committee begins, and every year this date is celebrated as a professional holiday.

The unified system of national security bodies of the country consists of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its constituent departments and other structural divisions, territorial bodies of the National Security Committee for regions, cities of republican significance and the capital of the Republic and subordinate city and district departments (departments, branches), as well as military counterintelligence bodies, the «Barlau» service of the National Security Committee, the Border Service of the National Security Committee, special forces units, research institutions and other organizations.

The educational institutions of this department are: the Academy of the National Security Committee in Almaty and the Military Institute of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of the former border school, which trains specialists in various military specialties. Graduates of the KNB Academy receive the profession of lawyer and operative with compulsory study of foreign languages.

On their own professional holiday, all employees of the national security agencies of Kazakhstan receive congratulations from management, friends and colleagues. Traditionally, various ceremonial events are timed to coincide with this day.
