Monarch's birthday in the UK (Queen's official birthday) (11/06)

On the second Saturday in June, the UK celebrates the official birthday of the English monarch (Queen's Official Birthday), which usually does not coincide with the real birthday. His Majesty's Official Birthday may be celebrated on the first, second or (rarely) third Saturday in June.

The reigning Queen Elizabeth II (Queen Elizabeth II) was born on April 21, 1926, however, according to tradition, official events are held in the first summer month. This tradition was established at the beginning of the 20th century by the British King Edward VII (Edward VII, November 9, 1841 - May 6, 1910). He was born in late autumn, but he wanted to celebrate his birthday in the summer, in good weather, and with a large gathering of people.

Therefore, Queen Elizabeth II celebrates two birthdays every year: her actual birthday on April 21 and her official birthday in June.
