World Quality Day (10/11)

World Quality Day. World Quality Day is an annual event held in many countries around the world on the second Thursday of November. The initiator of the establishment of this Day is the European Organization for Quality (EOQ) with the support of the United Nations (UN).

World Quality Day was approved in 1989. And six years later, the EOC declared the week in which this second Thursday in November falls as European Quality Week.

The goal of World Quality Day is to increase the importance of high quality products and services, as well as to intensify activities that are aimed at drawing attention to quality issues. After all, we are talking not only about the safety of goods for humans and the environment, but also about the degree of satisfaction of consumer requests and expectations.

European Quality Week has also been a notable world event, which includes actions carried out to draw public attention to quality issues, as well as a demonstration of the achievements and importance of quality for competitiveness within Europe. In addition, every year the events held as part of the Day (international forums, exhibitions of regional leading manufacturers, excursions to enterprises, exhibition events dedicated to quality, master classes, round tables, quality lessons, seminars, etc.), are dedicated to a specific topic.

The quality problem — is one of the highest priority problems in the economies of the leading countries of the world. In modern conditions, quality is the key to success in the activities of any enterprise, any industry and, of course, every country.

The concept of quality is closely related to what we call the benefits of modern civilization, quality of life — and this includes environmental conservation, physical health, and psychological comfort of a person.

Quality Day in Russia began to be celebrated in 2016 on the initiative of Roskachestvo. Traditionally, as part of Roskachestvo Day, it organizes business and information events — exhibitions of regional leading manufacturers, excursions to enterprises, master classes, round tables and Quality lessons in educational institutions. All this is also not limited to one day, but takes place during Quality Week.

In Russia, issues of product quality and consumer protection are also dealt with by territorial departments of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor), specialists in the protection of consumer rights of local governments, public consumer associations, etc.

According to these organizations, the most common are complaints about the quality of industrial goods (footwear, clothing, household goods, cell phones), food products, provision of services (installation of windows and doors at the request of the consumer, furniture production, etc.).

The goal of Russian state policy in the field of quality is to ensure the competitiveness of domestic products and services in both domestic and foreign markets for the stable development of the Russian economy, ensuring the greatest employment of the population, resolving social issues and, ultimately, improving the quality of life of citizens.
