Day of Customs Service Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic (31/12)

Every year on December 31, Kyrgyzstan celebrates the professional holiday — Day of Customs Service Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic, established by Decree of the Government of the country № 98 of February 15, 2006 in order to form and ensure the continuity of the traditions of the customs service of the Kyrgyz Republic.

By Decree «On the formation of the State Customs Inspectorate of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan» dated December 31, 1991, President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev laid the foundation for customs policy and customs affairs of a sovereign state. And in 2006, in honor of the 15th anniversary of this service, this professional holiday was established.

In 2007, the State Customs Inspectorate was transformed into the State Customs Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, and two years later — into the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic.

By Decree of the Government of the country № 38 of February 12, 2021, the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic was transformed into the State Customs Service under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, from December 2021 — State Customs Service under the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Customs Service of the Republic plays a significant role in the formation of new market relations, protecting the economic sovereignty and economic security of the state, intensifying the connection of the Kyrgyz economy with the world economy, ensuring the protection of the rights of citizens, business entities and government bodies and their compliance with obligations in the field of customs affairs.

On their professional holiday, all employees of the customs service of the Republic receive congratulations from management and colleagues, and those who have especially distinguished themselves in their work receive departmental awards and gifts.
