Flower festival in Azerbaijan (10/05)

At the initiative of the executive branch of the city of Baku, a number of events are held annually in the Azerbaijani capital dedicated to the anniversary of the birth of the national leader and 3rd President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev (May 10, 1923 — December 12, 2003).

After laying flowers at the monument to Heydar Aliyev, the official opening of the traditional Flower Festival began in the National Park. All regions of the capital Baku invariably took part in this colorful event. Throughout the park, exhibitions of flowers, plants, rare birds, as well as folk art, drawings on the asphalt and much more were presented.

Various children's musical groups performed concerts. In the evening there was an outdoor concert with the participation of Azerbaijani and foreign pop stars. At the end of the festive events, a grandiose fireworks display and fireworks display took place, which always attracted about a million city residents.

In recent years, the Flower Festival has lost its pomp and breadth; the city square was chosen as its venue. Flower compositions have become much more modest, but, nevertheless, the holiday is still loved and visited by Baku residents and guests of the capital. And since 2017, it was decided to celebrate it in a slightly different form. Thus, on May 10, landscaping and landscaping work is being carried out in all parks of the city of Baku, and flowers are being planted. Anyone can join the events.
