Children's Day in Panama (17/07)

On the third Sunday of July, Panama celebrates the good and beloved holiday — Children's Day. In Spanish, the name is El Día del Niño, and the day itself is considered one of the important calendar events of the year for every Panamanian family.

This holiday seems to transport children to the future and makes them adults for one day, because any child on this day can take the place of an adult. Only on this holiday can a child become a doctor, teacher, or join the government of the country for one day. At the same time, it is not customary to punish children for pranks and whims on a holiday.

Children, of course, enjoy the long-awaited freedom, because they can do almost everything on this day, but parents can only take comfort in the fact that they were able to give such pleasure to their children. In addition, on this day children receive many gifts from all – parents, friends, teachers…
