The Day of Employees of the State Security Body of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyzstandyn mamlekettic kuzot kyzmatynyn kyzmatkerinin kunu) is celebrated annually on September 16. This professional holiday was established by Decree of the Government of Kyrgyzstan № 369 of June 11, 2009, in order to educate military personnel in the spirit of devotion to their people, loyalty to military duty and military traditions.
The date was chosen due to the fact that the State Security Service (SSS) was formed by Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 16, 1992.
The State Security Service of the Kyrgyz Republic carries out a set of legal, organizational, security, security, operational-search, technical and other measures to ensure security for the following persons: the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, members of his family, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Speaker of Parliament — Toraga Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as heads of foreign states, governments and delegations during their stay in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The tasks of the State Security Service are:
— forecasting and identifying a threat to the life and health of objects of the State Security Service, implementing a set of measures to prevent this threat;
— ensuring the security of State Security Service facilities in their places of permanent and temporary stay;
— ensuring, within the limits of its powers, the organization and functioning of presidential and government communications;
— participation within the limits of its powers in the fight against terrorism;
— protection of protected objects;
— prevention, detection and suppression of crimes and other offenses at protected facilities.
Currently, the service has professionally trained personnel, is provided with the most modern technical means, weapons of the latest models, which makes it possible to fully solve the tasks facing it to ensure the safety of the country's top leadership and other protected persons.
