Employees of the customs authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrate their professional holiday on December 12, in honor of the founding of the state customs service on this day in 1991. Over the years, the customs authorities of Kazakhstan have come a long way in development.
Since 1991, the number of customs service employees has increased significantly, and the technical support of the department has improved. All this makes it possible to solve the problems facing the department as efficiently as possible: to prevent the import and export of smuggled goods, prohibited goods (for example, narcotic substances), and foreign currency.
One of the latest innovations — implementation of the «Electronic customs» system within the framework of the national «Electronic government». In addition, the «Web-declarant» system has appeared, as well as the ability to pay duties with plastic cards.
Recently, the state border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan has acquired the status of the external border of the Customs Union of the Eurasian Economic Union, which, in addition to Kazakhstan, also includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. This imposes a special responsibility on Kazakh customs officers.
The Customs Service of Kazakhstan has tried to make its activities as efficient and transparent as possible. Therefore, there are single checkpoints at the border that operate on the principle of «one stop». Representatives of all regulatory authorities are located at these points. This helps speed up customs procedures.
On their own professional holiday, the heads of the department and the state congratulate all employees, and those who have especially distinguished themselves will receive awards and prizes. Also on this day, concerts and other festive events are traditionally held.
