July 20 marks the interesting holiday – International Cake Day, dedicated to friendship and peace between people, countries, and peoples. It is held under the motto «I CAKE YOU», what does – « mean I will come to you with a cake», which, in general, is logical – how, if not a cake with tea, to celebrate peace and friendship?
At the origins of this sweet holiday of summer was the «Milan Club» of the Kingdom of Love – community of friends, whose members are musicians, culinary specialists and other passionate creative natures. It was this creative union that in 2009 began the tradition of creating joint musical cakes, which was then supported by other countries.
For the first time internationally, Cake Day was celebrated on July 20, 2011, becoming one of the initiatives of the Kingdom of Love (an international non-profit project implementing global cultural, humanitarian and peacekeeping initiatives), and it is held with the aim of spreading the ideas of peace and friendship on the planet through culture. Therefore, the motto of the Day was the phrase «I CAKE YOU».
The countries that took an active part in this first celebration of Cake Day in 2011 became the founders of the international holiday – these are Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Israel, and the USA. On this day, the world's first collective «multinational» peacekeeping cake – was baked, many people from these countries took part in its preparation, who sent photographs of the cakes they baked to the holiday website. The parameters of all the cakes were then summed up, and the boundaries of the world's first collective peacekeeping cake covered Europe, Asia, America and the Middle East. Since then, Cake Day has become an annual sweet tradition, and the number of participants from different countries is increasing.

Today, the organizers of the holiday are the International Organizing Committee of the Kingdom of Love with the assistance of national organizing committees, and events within the framework of this holiday are carried out in cooperation with international and national professional confectioners' organizations, public organizations and simply interested people.
Since Cake Day is celebrated not only for the glory of your favorite sweetness, but also as a sign of the strength of the friendly ties of the peoples of the world, its holding has become an important event in the cultural and social life of different countries. Everyone is invited to participate in festive events, which are often held with the support of local authorities. Over the course of several years, many lovers of sweets have joined this good tradition, and Cake Day is celebrated at all levels and by a variety of people.
By the way, every year the holiday is dedicated to a specific topic. Thus, among the mottos of different years there were the words: «Planet of Love», «Parade of Planets», «Visiting Fairy Tales», «Journey in Time», «Garden of Love», «Our Cinema», «Magic Dance», etc.

After all, cake – is a symbol of goodness, love, unification of people, so as part of the holiday it can not only be baked, but also... draw, mold, knit, create from any materials that come to hand.
