Day of Cultural and Art Workers in Kazakhstan (21/05)

On May 21, representatives of culture and art of Kazakhstan celebrate their professional holiday. The Day of Cultural and Art Workers in Kazakhstan appeared in November 2013 in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic.

This holiday was originally established in 1998 and was celebrated on the last Sunday of September. But in 2013, amendments and additions to the Presidential Decree moved the date of the holiday to May 21.

The establishment of a holiday of culture and art was aimed at emphasizing the important role played by representatives of this area in the formation, development and storage of cultural and historical values, patriotism, and the general cultural development of citizens.

Painting, folklore, national music, literary works – is a storehouse of knowledge about the cultural and historical past and present of the people, which allows you to learn more deeply about their originality and uniqueness, preserve it, convey it to descendants, teach them to understand it, be proud of it and increase the heritage ancestors.

The list of those directly related to the celebration of Culture and Art Day is huge: theater workers, writers, musicians, artists, groups of concert organizations, amateur performances, museums, libraries and archives, clubs, palaces and cultural centers, exhibition complexes, art galleries, etc.

Thanks to representatives of culture and art, the opportunities for citizens to realize their spiritual needs, as well as the right to rest, are expanding: a person has the opportunity to visit a museum, an art gallery, go to the Philharmonic and hear the beautiful sounds of music, and relax at a concert. After all, every person has the opportunity to realize their talents and begin their creative activities. The work and creativity of cultural and artistic figures makes an invaluable contribution to the organization of the harmonious educational process of the younger generation, becoming an important factor on the path to the socialization of the individual.

Despite the fact that the Day of Cultural and Art Workers in Kazakhstan is not a day off, its celebration is approached with due attention. Ceremonial meetings, concerts, and exhibitions are organized. The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan notes the merits of outstanding cultural and artistic figures by presenting awards, valuable gifts, and awarding titles that emphasize a person’s contribution to the development of state culture.
