International fasting day (05/01)

Every year on December 31st people start acting strange. From morning until almost evening they cook, while eating almost nothing, and towards midnight they sit down at the table and start eating. Lots of.

Salad basins are eaten, several hot options are eaten, a sea of champagne and stronger drinks is drunk, some, especially persistent, get to desserts almost in the morning, the rest start the cake only on the evening of January 1st.

For many years in Russia and the post-Soviet space, the New Year is celebrated, first of all, with a rich feast, and only then with fun festivities. And if frost and bad weather can interfere with the festivities, then there are no barriers to the New Year's feast. Even during the years of financial crises and during times of total shortages, tables were bursting with food.

In a few days, the body easily gains 3-5 kg. Those who lead a fairly active lifestyle are not afraid of these kilograms; they leave a week after the holidays. But most office workers become heavier for a long time, sometimes forever.

As part of the fight against obesity and excess weight, the healthy eating service Daily-menu.ru, together with the Events Calendar project, at the initiative of community participants, decided to establish an International Fasting Day. The holiday was first celebrated on January 5, 2018.

And today, without delay, we urge you to celebrate the beginning of the year on January 5th with a light diet, thanks to which the body will get rid of excess food, your mood will rise, and you will enter the new year without overload.

Celebrating the holiday is easy – main rules of the International fasting day: balance of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, calorie deficiency. Everyone can hold out for one day for the glory of a slender waist and good health. It is better to minimize carbohydrates; they are responsible for the instability of blood sugar, mood swings and cravings for food, when in fact there is no need for it in the body.

Everything you need to celebrate – less is eaten, but not starved. After eating plenty of food, your blood sugar levels are unstable, so there is a constant false feeling of hunger, which can be difficult to cope with.

Try spending this fasting day on a full, balanced diet with a reduced calorie content, choose foods and dishes with high nutritional value, and eliminate fast food and « garbage» foods filled with empty calories and carbohydrates completely. Then you will be pleased not only with the result, but also with your well-being.

If one day is not enough – spend the same day on January 6, Christmas Eve.

Good luck on the path of health and slimness!
