Day of Justice Workers of Turkmenistan (18/06)

On June 18, justice officials celebrate their professional holiday in Turkmenistan.

The holiday was established by a decision of the Parliament of Turkmenistan in 2016. It is noted by people whose professional activities are aimed at ensuring the rights and freedoms of citizens of Turkmenistan, prescribed and guaranteed by the Constitution, registration and bringing regulatory legal acts into compliance with the law, legal education and information of citizens, etc.

Before the adoption of Law «On Adalat (Justice) Bodies of Turkmenistan», the justice system in the country existed, but its functioning was complicated by the lack of a unified legislative framework, which was determined by law.

In 2017, the President personally addressed the employees of the justice authorities with congratulations, expressing gratitude to them in his address, emphasizing the importance and responsibility of the work performed by representatives of this area.

The justice bodies of Turkmenistan are represented by the Ministry of Justice (adalat), regional departments of the Ministry, the service for registering rights to real estate, notary offices, archival civil registry offices and other structures.

It is worth noting that «Ministry of Adalat» translated from Turkmen into Russian literally means «Ministry of Justice». This is what the justice authorities in Turkmenistan are called. The literal name of the state structure directly indicates the role assigned to workers in this field in the state, to those tasks the solution of which should contribute to the construction of civil society.

The Ministry of Justice of Turkmenistan is one of the central executive authorities in the country and is guided in its activities by the Constitution of the country, Law «On Justice Bodies (Adalat) of Turkmenistan», Presidential Decrees and other regulatory legal acts.

Paying tribute to the importance of the work performed by employees of justice authorities, the leadership of Turkmenistan tries to provide support to the Ministry of Justice and its regional structures, strengthening the material and technical base, providing social support to employees and their families.

Traditionally, justice officials who have the status of civil servants by law celebrate their professional holiday in the workplace, since it is not a day off.
