The list of international dates dedicated to sports was replenished with another holiday in 2017. Beginning in 2018, International Boxing Day was celebrated annually on July 22. But in 2021, it was decided to postpone the celebration to August 27.
This decision was made by the President of the International Boxing Association, AIBA. International Boxing Association, AIBA) by Umar Kremlev. The fight lasts up to 12 rounds, and the referee controls what is happening in the ring –. Moreover, the ancient Egyptian relief of the second millennium BC. captured not only boxers, but also spectators. Fist fights have also been described in ancient Indian texts – Vedas, Ramayanas and others.
It is generally accepted that boxing became a martial arts sport in 688 BC, when fist fights were first included in the program of the ancient Olympic Games. In its modern form, boxing originated in England at the beginning of the 18th century, and with the revival of the Olympic movement, boxing has also been included in the list of Olympic sports – since 1920. Moreover, in some countries there are their own types of boxing – French boxing in France, summer sports in Myanmar, Muay Thai in Thailand.
Today, boxing, popular all over the world, as a sport, is attracting more and more fans. In Russia, on this day in many cities, with the direct participation of the Russian Boxing Federation, demonstration training of boxers is organized, which is conducted by boxing champions, as well as boxing competitions. Such events attract thousands of spectators.
Thus, mass boxing training in 2017 set a new world record for the number of participants, included in the Guinness Book of Records. President of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Ching-Kuo Wu, who was present at the celebration of All-Russian Boxing Day on July 22, 2017, was amazed by the scope of the event, as well as the fact that not only Russian athletes, but also guests from different countries take part in it world, announced that from now on July 22 will be celebrated as International Boxing Day, which in 2021 was postponed to August 27.
