On August 30, Kazakhstan celebrates Constitution Day (order). Kazakhstan Republikasynyn Constitutionsy Kuni), which is a public holiday and day off in the country.
The Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, adopted in a national referendum on August 30, 1995 (with subsequent amendments and additions from 1998, 2007, 2011, 2017, 2019 and 2022), — as the fundamental law of the country reflects the will of the people of Kazakhstan, their desire to establish the country « as a democratic, secular, legal and social state, the highest values of which are a person, his life, rights and freedoms» (N. Nazarbayev).
The first article of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan establishes itself as a democratic, secular, legal and social state, the highest values of which are a person, his life, rights and freedoms.
In accordance with the amendments made to the Basic Law on May 18, 2007 at a joint meeting of the chambers of parliament, in terms of the form of government, Kazakhstan is a unitary state with a presidential-parliamentary form of government.
On Constitution Day, mass festive festivities and concerts of amateur artists are traditionally held in all regions and cities of the Republic.
