In the second half of February, the annual International Cuban Cigar Festival – opens in Havana, the most important event in the lives of cigar connoisseurs and smokers!
Typically, more than 1,000 manufacturers, exporters, collectors and simply lovers of the famous tobacco from 60 countries participate in it. For many years, the festival was traditionally attended by Fidel Castro.
The five-day festival program includes exhibitions, concerts, discussions and presentations. And all this is about Cuban cigars. Various tobacco competitions and auctions are held.
Guests are offered trips to tobacco factories and plantations, as well as the opportunity to take part in seminars on topics ranging from the ability to produce cigars and the art of enjoying them, to identifying fakes. The program includes a lunch during which fine wines are served with certain types of cigars.
Traditionally, the festival presents the latest new products and elite brands of Cuban cigars, such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Romeo y Juleta, Partagas, Hoyo de Monterrey, H.Upmann. Moreover, at least 70% of Cuban cigar exports are intended for the European market. As you know, cigars produced in Cuba are among the most expensive in the world.
