World Ballet Day (02/11)

Every year, one of the days of October becomes an international holiday dedicated to ballet.

For a long time, starting in 1982, workers of this wonderful art celebrated their holiday on April 29, along with everyone who is involved in the art of dance. That holiday is called International Dance Day. It is celebrated now. However, in the UK in Covent Garden, the idea of unusual popularization of the ballet – as a special type of choreographic art was born. There, cameras were installed in the halls and a live broadcast of rehearsals of the Royal Ballet of Great Britain via the Internet and social networks. The action was so successful that the very first day collected over half a million views!

This event has been annual since 2014. The Royal London Ballet was joined by ballet troupes of leading theaters in the world: the Moscow Bolshoi Theater, the Australian ballet Melbourne, Monaco, Amsterdam, San Francisco, and Canada's National Ballet in Toronto. The first broadcast lasted 9 hours. And now on World Ballet Day ( World Ballet Day ) daily everyday everyday life everyday life can be seen by everyone using one of the usual rehearsal days.

Online broadcasts last up to 20 hours in a row. For many, this becomes an opportunity to plunge into the real world of ballet, to see and understand that going on stage – is a bright, cashy and amazing result of daily many hours of work, hard work, incredible effort, efforts and love for one’s work, without which it is impossible to withstand all these difficulties. That beauty, impulse and sensuality, expressed in the dance that we observe on stage, – the fruit of the work of dancers, choreographers, choreographers. The moments on the stage turn ballet dancers for the viewer into celestials far from the realities of everyday life.

They give rise to the love of ballet that persists for life. However, International Ballet Day, or rather the format of its holding, gives rise to something even less important – is respect for the work of ballet dancers, awareness of, that they came to fame and beauty on stage through a long path of labor.

Artists of Russian ballet have something to be proud of. Domestic ballet deservedly occupies the highest position and has a rich history. He gave the world the names of great masters: dancers, choreographers and choreographers. It is enough to name such names as Marius Petipa, Anna Pavlova, Tamara Karsavina, Galina Ulanova, Maya Plisetskaya, Ekaterina Maximova, Rudolf Nuriev, Maris Liepa, Yuri Grigorovich, Vyacheslav Gordeev, Vladimir Vasiliev and many others.

There is no exact fixed date for World Ballet Day, as this is due to the need to coordinate the time of online broadcasts of the largest ballet groups in the world. To date, about 50 theaters from around the world are participating in the action.

The holiday is supported not only by ballet dancers and fans of this art, but also by the media, official portals of the Ministry of Culture. The main events on this day will be held in make-up rooms, rehearsal rooms, classes and on the stages of the famous ballets of the world, which are ready to open to all fans of this wonderful art online!
