Lawyer's Day (Ukrainian. Lawyer's Day is celebrated in Ukraine annually on October 8.
This professional holiday, established by Decree of the President of the country № 1022/97 of September 16, 1997, unites lawyers from different fields of activity who defend the rights and freedoms of Ukrainians.
For Ukrainian society, as for the population of any country, the legal profession is very important, because it is the legal community that hopes and tasks of establishing the principle of the rule of law, improving Ukrainian legislation, strengthening legal guarantees for the protection of various segments of the population and increasing the legal consciousness and legal culture of Ukrainians are placed.
Lawyers believe that everything is in order with the state if its basic Law — Constitution — does not limit the rights and freedoms of citizens, but, on the contrary, increases the zone of these freedoms. And the task of the lawyers themselves is to serve the law and defend these rights and freedoms.
