Education workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrate their professional holiday – Teacher's Day – annually every first Sunday of October.
This tradition of celebrating has been preserved and legislated in the Republic since the existence of the USSR, where Teacher's Day, starting in 1965, was also celebrated every first Sunday in October.
Traditionally, on the eve of the holiday, schools hold self-government days, when high school students conduct lessons in junior parallels, having prepared in advance and received the necessary advice and instructions from teachers. Teachers accept congratulations from students and their parents on this day. Already in the morning you can see children walking towards schools with bouquets of flowers in their hands.
Teachers certainly celebrate their professional holiday with a teaching staff. Schools often hold concerts during which students perform in front of their teachers, delighting them and giving them smiles and laughter. The walls of the school lobbies and foyer are decorated with festive wall newspapers.
Teacher's Day is also timed to coincide with the presentation of awards and certificates for achievements in teaching activities, as well as summing up the results of pedagogical competitions, such as «Best Teacher of the Year», «Best Kindergarten», «Best School», etc.
The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to pay attention to improving the education system in the country. New curricula are being introduced, an educational and methodological complex is being developed for preschool training of children, the number of educational institutions connected to the Internet is growing, and the e-learning system is gradually being introduced and improved.
